IN NEED OF MAJOR ADVICE

I have a fear that if I tell my mother the truth about some things that I've kept inside for years, she will be livid with me and will kick me out of her home. I mean, it's not like she's not going to find out in a year or so, but I just don't want her to hear the truth from someone else. Can anyone relate, and possibly give their take on this?

You might as well grab the bull by the horns and tell her now. You never know - her reaction may surprise you.

What didn't you tell the secret here to help you? Is that secret truth about your pregnancy you aborted? Or, did you have a relationship with a married man?

Perhaps you should prepare yourself for such an event. If you fear being homeless, you should save money to move out and get your own place. Once you have moved out, be honest with your mother. It is better that she know before someone else puts their own twist on the story.

If you believe she will kick you out, I would arrange a place to stay before you have this talk with her.

As you say, she`s going to find out, so how about just telling her?no matter how bad it is, it`s better she hear it from you than from some other person because they might have thier own version of things with half truths and half lies.

Its normal.. We keep things from parents as we grow older. Its ok. Not that we are wrong but they just wont understand. Its ok.

Better tell her now as early as possible or she will learn it from somebody else. But that she would truly be hurt. Better be coming from you.

If you don't want her to hear it from somebody else then have the courage to tell her yourself and be prepared for the consequences.

The truth will set you free. You need to tell your Mom in the right way and the right time. You should be aware of her moods when you tell those secrets. Mother always knows best and they will understand you if you're in a good way to approach here.

@MEAngle I think you should tell her, and if somebody else is going to tell her she might feel bad about it.
