The Associated Press reports on Monday from Arlington Texas the Chicago White Sox have activated from the 15 day disabled list catcher Alex Avila.
Avila was placed on the 15 day disabled list on April 24, 2016 one day after he strained his right hamstring running the bases against the Texas Rangers.
To make room for Avila on the White Sox roster the team designated for assignment catcher Hector Sanchez on Monday. Sanchez will likely be picked up by another team that will be needing his services in the near future.
Avila will be sharing catching duties with Dioner Navarro on a platoon basis for the remainder of the current baseball season.
The Texas Rangers will be hosting the White Sox at Global Life Park in Arlington Texas in a three game series that begins on Monday.

Having two veteran catchers like Avila and Navarro on the White Sox team will help them have a chance to make a playoff run this year.
