I went to a book club circle meeting Yesterday. One of the topic we discussed is what are your childhood imagination about the things that surrounds you? One of the participant said, when I was child, I used to ride a bicycle, I thought I was riding a horse. Another participant said, when I was child, Me and my sister used to play near the washing machine. whenever we see bubbles, we thought it was a space ship. imagination run into our mind, it's like we are from the outer space. Well, when I was a child I thought that Ant colony is another portal to the underworld. I spend whole day watching ants going inside and out to the small whole of the top of the volcano like mud. I also thought that fireflies are fairy. A small girl like Tinkerbell from Peterpan. I chased it as far as I could so I can make a wish. Sometimes I thought that this fairy could lead me to portal of Neverland. Do you have that weird childhood imagination? please share. Thank you

I've always had insomnia growing up, when I was about 5-7, and when the lights are out for bedtime I would stay up until the wee hours of the night until my visions would adjust to the darkness. I always swear that I've seen little people (really small ones) short as fingers, walking all over my bedroom. They are usually dressed as warriors or soldiers marching around the room and they would gather somewhere near me on the floor in military formation while listening to their leaders. And as much as I Strain my ears to listen to what their leader is talking about I can't.

Wow! you have the same imagination with my younger sister. She sometimes run in the middle of the night, then yell and said the soldiers are coming! What soldiers? my mom asks. She said, there under my bed. They are small like my fingers. I swear mom, I swear!

Posts like this are dangerous for me to read, as I can become inspired by them. But if I must give an answer, and I will.... It varied. One time I pretended to be fireman using a "Little Tikes" slide as a ladder, while my bed was a "burning building" and my stuff animals were civilians in need of rescuing...

When I was a kid I thought there was a gnome living under my front porch.

Really? I thought the same thing. We visited our grandpa's house in the island. Behind their house there was huge Strangler tree or we usually call it Balete tree. It has large whole at the center of the lower trunk. I thought there was gnome there. When my aunt found out about my imagination, she brought a black sticky rice. She told me, this snack is for your comes from the gnome inside that tree. I'm only 5 years old, and I thought it was real. I run to the kitchen, and found out that the black sticky rice with coconut milk was cooked by my grandma.

@valleyofberaca the imaginations of a child is incomparable to that of a writer whose plot for a new story is yet to unfold because it has no boundaries.
