"I Got You," a 1980 single (#1 in both New Zealand and Australia) from the band's album True Colors, is not only a great new wave tune, it's catchy as hell. You might have very well forgotten it, but odds are you'll remember it once you hear it.
Music from Australia & New Zealand in the year 1980: Split Enz's promo-video for the hit single 'I Got You' (March, 1980) taken from the 1980 album 'True Col...

Boy, hadn't heard this in years. Makes me think the music of the 80s isn't beyond redemption after all. 'Scuse me. Gotta go chase some demmed kids off my lawn.

They were a good band. "Shark Attack" was good, as was "Six Months in a Leaky Boat."

@teamfreak16 Those don't ring a bell. I spent so much of the 80s working and trying to finish college I didn't have much time (or money) for music.

@msiduri - Ah. Yeah, my degree was in broadcasting, and I was on our college station for two years before I moved up to the big leagues.

Woah! I have totally forgotten this song. They weren't that famous in my area but I used to listen to some of their songs. New wave songs are undeniably way better than the current mainstream pop music!

Oh, I totally agree, this stuff blows away what passes for pop music these days.

An honest to goodness, genuine 80s classic!!! Didn't know they were a Kiwi band.

For some reason I always thought they were Australian, but yeah, I was wrong.
