#5 in my Top 10 Favorite Opening Acts series takes us to Chicago, home of Chevelle. The band was formed in 1995 by the Loeffler brothers (vocalist/guitarist Pete, bassist Joe, and drummer Sam. Brother-in-law Dean Bernardini has taken the departed Joe's spot.) Point #1 is the title track from their 1999 Steve Albini-produced debut. The song was a bit of a hit, reaching #40 on Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. I saw Chevelle open for Type O Negative in 1999 at the Ogden Theater in Denver. I remember loving their set for the energy put fourth, but mainly because they reminded me a lot of Tool. Particularly because Pete's vocal style is reminiscent of that of Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan, while his guitar play is similar to Tool's Adam Jones. All in all, it was a tight, professional set, and I enjoyed it immensely.
the two songs now as one...plays better together i think i dont own either of the songs

Nice! Type O is a band I'd love to see in concert. They do look/sound like they'd put on a good show.
