Sorry for Our Friend

We were quite sad last night upon hearing that a young son (27) of our friend died, five days after he wast hit by a taxi cab.He died of brain hemorrhage.
He was a chemical engineer, and was just starting a beautiful career. He was about to cross using a pedestrian lane, moments after he alighted from a bus, when a speeding taxi cab hit him.
So sad for the parents because the son was the eldest among three siblings. That was life. It was so short!

It is true, @SIMPLYD, he was so young and among the top ten board passers for Chem. Engineers from the University of the Philippines.

I am sorry to hear about your friend and for his family. Life is so crazy and unpredictable. I send prayers to them and to you as you all grieve. I agree that it is a future lost especially because he was so young and a new graduate. It is hard to understand why these things happen. But I believe that he is in a better place and is watching over you and his family. He is waiting for you all to join him in time. I don't know what the future has to bring but I believe that you all will get through this with God's help. God bless you.

Thank you for the @melindataylor22 for the words of comfort. Though he was not a relative, I felt for the mother who lost a dear son so suddenly.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. He was very young to die and it's sad that he just started his bright future but was being stopped. My condolences to the bereaved family.

That's sad news indeed. I hope the erring driver was apprehended and meted the corresponding punishment. Whatever monetary payment made will not compensate for a future lost. Condolence to your friend's family.

Thank you @sunrisefan, the operator of the taxi paid for the hospital bills. But I don't know if the victim's parents filed the necessary charges against the driver. He should had slowed down when he approached the pedestrian lane.

@acelawrites Paying the hospital bill is not enough. Although life has no price, compensation should also be given, aside from the criminal liability of the erring driver.

They talked with the driver and the taxi operator promised to pay the hospital bills. I don't know if the driver was jailed.
