60 Minutes news veteran Morley Safer to retire from television after 46 years

The Chicago Tribune reports on Wednesday "60 Minutes" news veteran Morley Safer, 84, will retire from working on television after he worked for the CBS News magazine show that started in 1968 and is currently one of the longest running television series in history. Safer joined the news magazine show in 1970. Due to health reasons and his age, Safer has decided to bid goodbye to working on the show after this Sunday. CBS will have a special show on Safer next Sunday after the next "60 Minutes" show ill air on television that will air starting on Sunday at 7pm eastern time. With the retirement of Safer from the news magazine show, Lesley Stahl and Steve Croft as the senior correspondents of the television show. Safer had 919 reports on the "60 Minutes" show during his 46 years with the show which is an amazing feat.

I do remember the show "60 Minutes" with Morley Safer for a long time. Morley had a great career in television.
