Tim Bisel of the cjonline.com website reports the news that the Kansas City Royals have placed starting pitchers Chris Young and Kris Medlen on the 15 day disabled list on Thursday.
Young has a right forearm strain of his right forearm will forced the Royals to place him on the 15 day disabled list.
Medlen has inflammation on his right rotator cuff which also forced the Royals to place him on the 15 day disabled list on Thursday.
The Royals have called up from their AAA minor league team the Omaha Storm Chasers left handed pitcher Scott Alexander and right handed pitcher Peter Moylan to replace Young and Medlen on their active roster on Thursday.
Dillon Gee and Danny Duffy will replace Young and Medlen as the staring pitchers this weekend when the Royals will be hosting the Atlanta Braves at Kauffman Stadium.

KC is just getting killed by this rash of injuries and I don't think they make the playoffs at this rate.
