Songs about your Home Town

I am listening to Atmosphere's "Say Shh" - they are a local rap group that tackle some big, social issues - and are just in general AMAZING and this particular song is all about Minneapolis. This is pretty exciting to me - because no one is from my state, let alone my town. Bob Dylan is from Minnesota, but he said (in so many words) that Minnesota NEVER inspired him.

Got trees and vegetation in the city I stay

The time I visited the Twin Cities alone (like the John Prine song said) I was amazed to see the skyways and thought, "Wow, just like the Replacements sang!"
I'm from Louisville, and the most famous song about it is "Eight More Miles to Louisville" by Grandpa Jones. As for famous musical Louisvillians, there's Mary Travers of Peter, Paul & Mary, jazz great Lionel Hampton, Joan Osborn, and My Morning Jacket.

Whoa! You live in a popular city. Cool. Do they speak the truth, in your opinion, of what the city is all about? And whats the name of the Replacement song? Ill be checking it out!lol I did not realize that skyways were kind of obselete....I think its because we tend to have a lot of snow on the ground!!
