Steve Adams reported the news on Friday the Texas Rangers have signed free agent starting right handed pitcher Kyle Lohse to a minor league contract.
Lohse became a free agent at the end of the 2015 baseball season when his contract with the Milwaukee Brewers expired. Lohse had a pitching record of five wins and 13 losses with an earned run average of 5.85.
Lohse was not able to find any team in the Major Leagues that wanted his services before the start of the 2016 Major League Baseball season even though he worked out for several teams during the offseason.
Lohse can opt out of his contract with the Rangers on June 1, 2016 if he does get called up to the pitch for them.
If Lohse makes the Rangers roster, he will be paid a base salary of $2 million dollars plus $1.5 million dollars in incentives according to a tweet from Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
Lohse who is 37 years of age will be at best a long shot to return to pitch in the Major Leagues this year.

Rangers are adding depth by signing Lohse in case of injury bug. He's another I thought the Angels would consider.

It is too bad your Angels did not consider signing Lohse to a minor league contract since he would have a great veteran team member.

I understand from various websites that Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra is admired in your home land.
