Today's Into the Groovy (#56) takes us to London, where post-punk band Theatre of Hate formed in 1980.
Theatre of Hate was led by vocalist/guitarist Kirk Brandon. The band has had a revolving door of musicians, notably, at different times, guitarist Billy Duffy of The Cult and long-time Mission/Gary Numan/Peter Murphy guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite. (Brandon would go on to form Spear of Destiny.)
"Do You Believe in the Westworld?" is the title track to the band's only studio album (thanks, Wikipedia!,) Westworld (produced by The Clash's Mick Jones.)
Brandon's enthusiastic vocals can be an acquired taste: the Trouser Press Record Guide was pretty much spot-on years ago when they declared that Brandon "sings every song as if he's trying to rally the troops for one last charge up the hill."
I get a little spaghetti western vibe early on, and overall find it a fun piece of post-punk.

Terrific. Definitely some Ennio Morricone going on.

@teamfreak16 When I saw the word "Westworld", I immediately thought of the Yul Bryner movie where his robot gunslinger is Chris from The Magnificent Seven.
