My Poor Baby's Finger

Well today after getting back home from grocery shopping my son was standing by the door. His dad was coming and going through the door bringing in bags. Unfortunately, I don't know if my son put his finger in the door crack by accident or on purpose, i assume by accident because he is always careful to keep his fingers out of the door, but the door was shut on his finger! He cried for so long because it hurt him so much. He eventually stopped crying and he is letting it touch things just fine so I am sure it isn't broken because it was just the tip of the finger. It is bruised though which I feel so bad about even though I wasn't the one who shut the door. My fiance didn't know his finger was there because my son was behind the door out of sight. Have you ever pinched your finger bad between a door? Have you seen it happen to a kid before?
