Should old parents receive maintenance from children?

Under section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, husbands in India are supposed to maintain their wives, children and others who does not have income and are dependents. In that list old parents are mentioned. But the laws in India are not very strong in case the children dont look after the parents. There are a lot of cases where old parents are asked to go and live in Old age homes. The sons have space for their wives and children, but no place to keep the old mother or father who nurtured them, sacrificed their own life for bringing happiness to them. As these things are personal, State also dont take them seriously, because unless complain comes police never intervenes. Parents also being helpless at old age either bear the pains or remain silent. There should be strong laws, where if the laws are infringed strong action can be taken against children.
