Has anyone ever used apple cider vinegar (or another type of vinegaR) in their hair as a way to condition it?
I alternate between using this and using coconut oil as both are supposedly good for your hair and good in a cheap, "leave in conditioner" type way.
As I sit here, I have a bunch of stinky vinegar in my hair. You have to wash it at least once to mostly get rid of the smell. HOWEVER - after that, your hair is soft and shiny as ever. But do try not to get it in your eyes.
Do you have any strange home remedies that you use?

@maezee my hair has always been very, very thick and wavy and it's difficult to condition enough to comb. So while apple cider vinegar did help, it didn't work as well as commercial conditioners do. I've learned that I only need to use a little bit on my ends and after I massage that through, I just sort of massage that little bit around my whole head and leave it on for a while. After I rinse it out, my hair is tangle free and soft. So I no longer use half the bottle with each shampoo and I'm good to go!

I use ACV in my salads. I like the taste and some health professionals believe that it is very good for our body.

You certainly could, if you have long unmanageable hair like myself. It does stink though, I will warn you. Do you partake in any kind of home remedy? I have heard of putting eggs, lemon, and mayo in your hair -b ut I have never done this. A little scared to try something new. Lol

yes, another member said after shampooing and rinsing, she puts some on her hair, but only for a minute, then rinses it out. she said it does work, but it also affected her hair dye, which i'm not really surprised about since vinegar can be used against stains, right?

I have used apple cider vinegar in my hair before. I've also used baking soda. It does help keep your hair so very silky and nice.
I wanted to start using shampoo and conditioner that I buy off of etsy (a small bottle of both shampoo and conditioner come in a bundle for $11.00 from a seller I like). Anyway, I stopped washing my hair completely for about two weeks while I waited for it to be made and arrive. I would massage my scalp in the shower, but otherwise use nothing at all.
Not even, apple cider vinegar. I noticed my hair started to get silkier and healthier. It didn't really feel "nappy" either since I massaged my scalp and got rid of dry skin and let the oils sort of rinse through my hair.
Have you ever tried that before?
