Contemporary dance form!!

Contemporary dance form has fascinated me from the childhood yet I have never been able to learn it because I am not able to find someone who can teach me the same.I am a non-dancer yet this summer have thought and made a decision to learn this dance form by my ownself through youtube videos and google.I'm quite excited to learn it.
Do you also have any favourite dance form? Can you give me some tips for the same to learn by my own?
