Pot and pans

To all my cooks out there, what is a good set of pots and pan to invest in. I cook, but I am really looking into stepping my game up and trying a lot more new recipes. What is a good cookware set. Right now I have a little cheap set. It gets the job done, but looking for something new.

I can't suggest anything as I never bought a real expensive set of pots and pans.
