Just don't mix your dressings in the salad.

Of course we are all guilty of using too much salad dressing when we go out to eat or buy a pre-made salad from Walmart and such. The amount they put in the package is just enough to whet the appetite. But have you ever made the terrible culinary mistake of putting two or more different dressings on your salad? Well, I tried French with Catalina and regretted doing so. Here is an excellent article about Thousand Island dressing: I usually use only Ranch because I have a liking to this flavor for salad and veggie dipping.
A simple recipe for the best thousand island dressing, perfect for burgers.

I have never mixed a salad dressing. My favorite is Ranch. I also like Blue Cheese and sometimes Thousand Island.

Hmm then you must be health conscious. I am inclined to put on just a bit of Ranch to bring the flavors of tomato, lettuce, chicken and crunchy crutons together.

You are better off just sticking with not mixing.

These are two that I enjoy. The brand I prefer is the kind that they sell in the refrigerated section of produce.

The flavors tend to clash and create an entirely new flavor unlike each individual flavor by itself.

In general I don't eat salad;), but...it's something I should probably start making a habit of.

If you are new to salads, you might enjoy some of the pre-made salads they sell at a restaurant of your choice. If you go to a Canadian restaurant chances are they will prepare the Chef's Salad for you which can be custom made to your liking. Try a light Vinegarette dressing like zesty Italian with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, boiled eggs, ham pieces and lightly covered with one of your favorite shredded cheeses. I live where there are ready made salads handy at Sam's Club or Walmart SuperCenters, where the store makes their very own brand and offer a few varieties at under 4 or 5 dollars a package, ready to eat with all the toppings included in the package. Fresh on a daily basis.
