Yahoo Sports reporter Jeff Passan on Monday reported the news free agent right handed pitcher Tim Lincecum, 31, is close to signing a contract with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Lincecum has recovered from hip surgery that was performed in 2015. Lincecum who pitched for the San Francisco Giants from 2007-2015 became a free agent at the end of the 2015 baseball season.
Lincecum had drawn interest from the Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the San Francisco Giants to pitch for them.
The Giants wanted Lincecum to work for them as a relief pitcher which is not what Tim wanted to do in the 2016 baseball season.
Due to injuries to Angels to right handed starting pitcher Garrett Richards who will miss the remainder of the 2016 baseball season due to Tommy John surgery and left handed starting pitcher Andrew Heaney who has an injury to his pitching arm which may require Tommy John surgery which could sideline him for the remainder of the 2016 baseball season, the addition of Lincecum would be welcome by the American League West Division team.

That is okay. I used to play baseball in Little League and now on Nintendo Wii for fun.

I have been following this. I wonder how much they will pay and for how long. The Angels are in desperate straights and must take a chance on Lincecum. They traded for Chacin and he was okay his first start.

I have no idea how much the Angels will pay Lincecum to pitch for them but I agree with you that they need all the help they can get on their starting pitching rotation.

To show you how little attention I've been paying, I had no idea he's a free agent.
