I opened the wrong car door.

On the way home from running errands, I asked my boyfriend if he wanted anything for dinner since I was going to eat left overs. He said In-N-Out will do. The drive thru line was long, so I told him to park somewhere and I'll go in to order. After ordering and waiting - I texted him and asked where he parked. He responded out in front.
I assumed out in-front meant he parked in-front of the door I went in from. But technically there's two doors so he wasn't being clear either.
I chose to walk out from where I came from. I saw "our" car parked in two lanes (double parked) and I was thinking to myself totally not his style but I guess because it was a tight parking spot...
.. so I walked toward "our" car. Looked exactly the same, white, tinted and everything, same style and I opened the door without looking inside because it's dark/tinted. The door didn't open. Then I looked and didn't see the driver (bf). So I thought, where did he go.. He just responded to me. So I looked at my phone, no response so I looked at the license plate and I was like WHOOPS wrong car.
I awkwardly stepped away from the car and went around the other side/door and looked in-front. My boyfriend was parked there!
I told him the story and he said I was embarrassing.
Luckily as I got into my car, I saw the couple leaving In-N-Out to their car. It looked exactly the same!

It was more than embarrassing for my wife, Ms. Michelle. It happened to her many times but one time she went right inside and sat in another car and the driver was so shocked hahaha! My wife was so embarrassed and I told her she should be more careful next time but it happened several times and I always see her while I'm inside the car waiting for her.

Wow - I think if the door opened, I would have sat inside but I would notice when I sit that it is not my proper seat position or something not familiar. But I would be freaked out if I went inside. There was a time I had a door open and that's when I realized I had the wrong car.
I hope the owners did not see me from inside or something. I was talking to myself when I realized it was not our car. I was like oh looks exactly the same wrong car whoops! Encase some people saw me be all awkward running to the back and checked out the car. Ha-ha!
My boyfriend told me to be careful next time too.

@infatuatedbby You're much better because the car you wanted to come in was exactly that of your BF but with my wife, there were times when the car did not even resemble in color to ours LOL! I felt embarrassed for her too LOL!

I would have turned several shades of red! This didn't happen to me, but My Grandfather was telling me about he was waiting for another family member to get back to the car. An elderly lady came up and got into my Grandfather's car. Whoops! She quickly realized her error (my grandfather was in the driver's seat) and got out. Apparently her husband was parked right next to my grandfather, and cars were similar.

I was backing away from the car and was talking to myself. Whoops same exact car but wrong car. No one was around but I just about go yell at my boyfriend for double parking and the police officers were going in the drive thru! Whoops wrong car ha-ha. I am sure the elderly lady was just as embarrassed but double + scared too. Hehehe. I would be running after apologizing

He was embarrassed for me. Yes he did not specify but I did not nag him for it because I was just hurrying up to leave the scene.
I would have probably not speak in English but as soon as I got in the car (if that was home) I would be yelling! Like why in the world did you park in this parking spot and double parking. Did you not see the cop right beside you but going in the drive thru! Is it possible to give you a ticket? LOL. And why is the police going thru drive thru at IN & OUT! Haha.

@infatuatedbby Imagine if someone had been in the car and you start making a fuss about double parking! That would definitely be something I'd have done, which would only add to the embarrassment! whoops!
I'm glad no one saw it though. Your bf shouldn't have fussed about being embarrassed by it, he didn't specify WHICH "front".

I think it would be more embarrassing if the driver was there.
I have experienced a few times going to the wrong car as well, but glad that I didn't open the car door, and there was nobody inside, so I didn't feel so embarrassed.
I guess most of us experienced this before. Now I always check twice before I open the door.

I tried to open the door but it was locked (good thing) but then I thought it was not normal for my boyfriend to not be in the car, since he was waiting for me. I will learn to double check now
Before the car was not popular but now it is lol.

I have done that before at church. Lol. There's a couple who parks right next to us and they have the same exact mini van we have. The same color, make, model, year and everything! My husband was parked where I could only see the back of the van one time-so I couldn't see him in and I saw our same van and went to get in when I noticed the driver was NOT my husband.
