I started going to a computer technician who fixes computers, electronics and stuff for some companies around. I have no technical background with such stuff, he allows me to join him for 10 work days and if I do well, I will start working with him. The thing is that he speaks russian with customers on the phone, I'm not sure what to learn exactly. Computers can have many problems. I looked around in his lab, I saw computers, electronics and etc... He helps setting up a network for customers service for a company. What do you suggest for me to read about ? Any stuff I can learn by myself in advance ?

What about your PC ? Haven't you ever have a problem with it ? Everyone has to fix the PC once in a while.

@Yar_Joey Ok, laptops can also have problems, I had a problem with mine: windows didn't start. My friend had a bootable cd and controled my laptop to boot from that cd, then the restored my laptop with windows again.

There is a lot of sites on the internet where you can learn. I think you will do good learning from this person. It will give you hands on experience.

@stringer321 I'm sorry but you can still learn whatever you want to. Surf and see what you can find that is free.

@velvet53 I'm back to study at the open university, to the B.Sc in computer sciences. I hope I will finally complete the degree in a couple of years.

Too late now. After a couple of times, we agreed to let it go. He had no time to teach me and all I could do was to listen to his talking with the customers, and understand what he did. It didn't go well and that's about it.
