Loopholes

A lot of tech companies are offering money to those who can find security loopholes in their networks.
It seems some young people are now hackers trying to find the loopholes and then emailing the companies to let them know they have done so.
They will even delete something on the site to let them know it is for real.
One 10 year old as I understand it was rewarded around $10,000 for finding a loophole.
Why can't these be made to work right from the start instead of having all these loopholes.

Because error is human and nothing is perfect at first attempt. You might think that a software is bug-free, but it is rarely the case, and you can find bugs years later after you wrote the code. A bug happening 1/1 billion is very difficult to detect, and $10 000 to have found and identified it would be a very cheap reward...

It is mind boggling how some young people can figure out all this.
I know I could not find one for the life of me.

that ten year old was prob blown away, as was his or her parents, might just have a good career there

.
I wrote a few lines of code in my life and I found bugs in my lines years after.
