Into the Groovy #61 - "Sleepy Maggie"

Today's Into the Groovy (#61) takes us to Canada, home of fiddler Ashley MacIsaac (I had no idea he is Canadian. I always assumed he was Irish.)
MacIsaac has won three Juno (Canadian equivalent of the Grammy's) Awards and is a Double Platinum seller in Canada. He is willing to step outside the box, combining traditional fiddling with punk and rock influences. His 1995 album Hi How are You Today? (which is great, by the way,) is just such a record.
And while that album is fairly aggressive, it's hit, "Sleepy Maggie," is as far away from the rest of those songs as it gets. It was a Canadian Top 20 (#13,) and landed on three different Canadian charts (and #29 on Billboard's Dance Music/Club Play Singles chart--yes, it's a fairly danceable tune.)
The first time I heard "Sleepy Maggie" was while drinking beer on the deck at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area after a good morning of snowboarding. I immediately liked it and bought Hi How Are You Today? the next day.
As much fun as that album is, "Sleepy Maggie" is the standout.
Track 2 from the album 'hi™ how are you today?'. This is not mine. No copyright infringement intended.

He did, and may still, wear a kilt (with his Docs.) I was surprised that he was born in Canada, though.
