One of the most amazing things about Les Paul -- aside from his innovations (he invented the solid-body electric guitar and multi-track recording) -- is his perseverance. He was in a serious car wreck that shattered his right elbow. The doctors told him he'd never move that arm again, so he had them set it at an angle so he could continue to play guitar.
More worthless trivia: he was Steve Miller's guitar teacher.

Vaya Con Dios was their biggest hit. Paul not only played but basically invented the modern guitar and his guitars are highly collectible and he is highly revered by the rock gods.
