What do you think about "Thinx" panties? (Ladies only / TMI!)

Okay, so I have seen several Facebook advertisements for these "Thinx" underwear (Beware - ladies only). They are considered to be "period panties" for women - and I am not sure if I like the idea or not. So I figured, what better place to get the opinions of my fellow period sufferers and ladies here at MyLot? Apparently, after doing some looking into, each pair costs around $30 and essentially their claim is that with these underwear, you do not have to wear pads or tampons as they "absorb" blood - up to a certain amount. I am not sure how I feel about this - I would probably never go without a tampon on my period, ever, but maybe as something to wear underneath during the heavier days. What do you think? Would you use something like this? One good thing is that they seem to come in all differnet styles - and they do NOT look like diapers, ha ha, which is great. What's your thoughts? Here's the website:

I prefer pads and I would be way too paranoid that something got through while wearing these

Me too although I do not use pads, I cant imagine just relying on these alone....But it's kind of a cool idea right? Maybe it could be for those heavy days in addition a tampon or pad.... I don't know, I'm thinking about biting the bullet and buying one!!

I'm glad I'm beyond that age. However, one, I would NEVER wear a pair of underwear that costs $30 - I'd better have 30 pairs for that price. And two, I wouldn't wear them simply because I would feel uncomfortable doing so.

Yes. True. Im glad you are beyond this rotten stage. Sometimes the flow can be so heavy it might be nice to wear these as a backup plan. But you are right....$30 is an expensive pair of undies

Never heard of them! How do they work - do you wash them or are you meant to throw them away? Personally I use a menstrual cup, the greatest thing ever! Had it now for several years and wish I had discovered it years before!
