Welcome to MyLot, Little Rosie
(or - Say it with Flowers)
And here you are, my little friend,
a dark red rosie, stem a-bend,
surrounded by those of us here
where we've all been been year after year.
Don't let our rules all frighten you.
(Do as we say - not as we do.)
Just smile with us, and with us, play.
And post your words here every day.
Someday, maybe, you'll get big -
no more "pimple" on a twig.
Friends will comment on your stuff.
Life on MyLot is not tough.
Perhaps if you can hang on in
here on MyLot you will win
and get to be the biggest poster,
the wordiest one - a real good boaster.
Then, when newbies show their faces,
you, like we, can show your graces,
surround them, tell them "Howdy-do,
just like we now welcome you."

@jaboUK - Ms Janet - Oh boy !!!!! You scared me that time. Had me thinking I'd stuck the wrong image with the post. The little rose on its bent twig is right in the middle of all of those yammering lilly flowers. (Expect and ye shall receive, that is, "perceive.")
Happy day to you, Ms. Janet - Gus Kilthau

@Hatley - Hi Ms Patsie - Thanks for the kind words. I am trying to learn more about making "layered" images. It is a slow-go, but if I live long enough, I might actually learn how to do it. This time I made a kaleidoscopic image of some kind of lilies my bride was growing in a garden box, and then I layered a rose picture in the middle of the first image. Next time I will try to remove the background from the rose picture and probably then stick the two together.
Glad you took to that little rhyming doggerel. Hard to think what sorts of things that flowers might be saying to one another...
Have fun today, Ms Patsie - Gus Kilthau

@Hatley - Ms Patsie - I forgot to tell you that I read an interesting article today about how plants (trees) "relax" and seem to be sleeping when the sun goes down. Would you believe that the whacked-out scientist types who wrote that paper actually used flash lighting to which the trees are not sensitive to make pictures of the drooping branches at night. They said that they did not use ordinary flash lighting because they did not want to awaken the trees. (Could have spoiled the tree's sleep, right?)
Have lots of fun today - Gus Kilthau
