Meanwhile in Louisiana...

Well, Louisiana is known for being colorful and today was no exception. Evidently a Louisiana Legislator had introduced a bill requiring strippers to be between the ages of 21 and 28 and not over 160 lbs. Yes, you can imagine he caused quite a stir. Later, the bill was amended and removed everything except the requirement a stripper be over the age of 21. So, while the rest of the world is worried about poverty, terrorism, the economy and other world issues, Louisiana is worried about the age and weight of strippers? Smh... I don't know this legislator but I can tell you that I don't particularly care to. I am already NOT a fan!
A Senate bill aimed at restricting the age of employees at strip clubs that serve alcohol seems to have included an amendment that aimed to limit the weight of strippers as well.

An overweight stripper is a burden to society so weight limits would be a good thing - and think about those poor skimpy outfits - 160 can blow seams!

Oh lord! That is crazy. At first I didn't read the weight part, only the age part. I thought maybe 21+ for strippers is perhaps a good thing - gives 18 years old a few more years to decide if they truly want to be a stripper. But the weight? RealLY? Omg....

Yes, totally nuts! Lol. 160 is not that large, especially if someone is tall!

Simply out of curiosity I would like to know what made the legislator decide to introduce such an amendment to the bill. Perhaps he doesn't care for heavyset older strippers.

First I heard it was just a joke and then I read he was just doing it to make a point of how ridiculous this all was.

Well, somebody has to make the rules, and who better than the ones who frequent the strip clubs? They know what they want to see.

I am surprised fellow lawmakers were able to pick themselves off the floor from laughing so hard. There is so much that is ridiculous here. Maybe this Legislator was dismayed that his local strip joint only had mature plumper for entertainment.
