A good day today, We went Out shopping & got some great bargains.

My wife told me they had 18 count grade-A-Large eggs for sale at the local Fiesta Mart so she went in to take a look and found that they were 'OUT' and that was disappointing at first until the store manager saw here walking by the eggs and he knew exactly what she was looking to find. He gave her the offer of two dozen eggs for the same price of the 18 count eggs as a substitute at the same price which, by the way was an amazingly low price of 88 cents ! I have to say this was one of the bargains of the day for us. 2 dozen grade-A-Large eggs for the price of 18 just because the manager of the store was being so thoughtful. I will remember him the next time I go in the store and offer to give a nice tip to one of the courtesy clerks. At Target today we lucked out and purchased a package of Fig Newtons for just $1.50 or 2 for 3 dollars. One pound of cookies in this package. You don't run into bargains this good every day. I would put today on the calendar as being a very good day. Not only that but the latest news about the $5.00 minimum pay out amount. This makes me so glad I woke up this morning and started the day with a positive attitude. Friday, May 20th, 2016, for me has been a nearly perfect day in every way. I don't even have a headache from drinking 2 cups of my favorite coffee. lol

That was great that the manager gave you an substitute for the eggs that were on sale. Some offer rainchecks for items that are out of stock. Aldi does not offer rainchecks so if I am looking for a particular item I am out of luck if it isn't there. Fig Newtons for $1.50 a package is a good deal. Did you have to buy 2 to get the bargain though?

Have you ever been offered a substitute item in place of the missing product?

Not in this particular case. At times I have seen in particular, Kroger, they tell you if you buy 4 loaves of Oat Nut bread you can get them all for 2 dollars or whatever each but who has room for 4 loaves of Oat Nut bread? At that rate people would be pulling stock off the shelves faster than they could restock.
