I pulled a prank on my brother that backfired!

My brother had received a cotton candy machine for one of his Christmas gifts and I thought it would be funny to pull a prank by substituting salt for sugar just to see what his reaction would be when he licked the cotton salty thingy. Well it turned out that the crystals of salt worked in a similar fashion to what sugar crystals did when heated and air is added as it spins around and round to make cotton candy only the one thing I had not taken into account was ... The salt raised the temperature of the motor as it super heated it and destroyed the cotton candy machine after spinning cotton salty stuff and not only was my brother angry but I was ashamed of myself for doing this. To this day I feel bad about this and wish I had bought him a new cotton candy machine to replace the one that I so foolishly destroyed by pulling a prank on him.
