I heard this story on the way home today. Details were still sketchy. From what I understand an armed man brandished a weapon at Secret Service Agents near a White House checkpoint and the agents shot him in the stomach. Last report I heard, the weapon brandisher was in critical condition in a DC area hospital. No information about who he was or where he was from had been obtained, nor had the type of weapon he was brandishing been identified.
Was this the solitary act of a mentally unstable individual, or was it the harbinger of attacks to come at the hands of Daesh and their radicalized followers?

And over here a convicted murderer made it into Buckingham Palace grounds, whilst the Queen was at home, and didn't get shot. But he was immediately sent to prison for four months. Or something. {That was the same day, or a couple of days earlier than your Presidential incident, I think.}

I did read a brief article about that. I think in this situation it was a mentally unstable person but I would not count out Daesh from ever doing it here on American soil. They are evil and they want to expand their territory of destruction.

At least he didn't make it to the fence and start shooting like that guy from Colorado a few years back.
