Have you received birthday surprises in the past? / myLot

It was my mom's birthday yesterday so right away after our seminar, I hurried to the mall to buy something for mom's birthday. It was getting late at night and while I was on my way home, I silently whispered a prayer that she was not still falling asleep. When I got home, I saw her watching the TV and as I handed her the gifts, she was surprised. This was the first time that I did surprise her and the feeling was great. I know she did feel good too and seeing her enjoying the gifts made me thankful. Have you experienced being surprised by someone in the past? How was your experience on it?

I did! Many years ago my current GF, some friends, and I were at a Chinese restaurant having lunch. It was my birthday. I got a surprise of my life when I saw a lady waving her hand at me at another table with some ladies. It was my ex-GF. Of course, she knows my birthday. She came over and wished me Happy Birthday. I thanked her and introduced her to my GF and friends. Of course, I told my GF about her. That was more than a material gift for me! I kept imagining our happy days together.

@antonbunot It was good she did not start a fight with you. It if it were other woman, that event may ensued a fight because of jealousy.

Once. I was teaching at an English Institute and was surprised by my students. They bough a cake for me and handed me flowers. One of them bought a leather planner journal. I could never forget that day.

I have never experienced such thing with my students. It rarely happens in public schools especially for those who do not have their advisory class and I have been one of those. I just often received birthday surprises from my boyfriend.
