Well, that was an interesting way to spend 2 hours. We went to watch my youngest daughter in her recital (she does both ballet and tap) and she did fantastic. She didn't even need help remembering her steps, which is pretty impressive for a 6-year-old, at least in my opinion.
There were a total of 37 different performances we had to sit through. Some were better than others. The older kids were pretty good. There were a lot of other ones that just seemed like they wanted to be somewhere else. Many stood around staring blankly instead of dancing. And, not all of them were younger dancers.

I was wondering how it went for you, having to sit through all the other performances.
And how your daughter did. Sounds like she was great! Is this something she wants to continue for a long time?
My kiddo has a guitar recital today. Though it's not nearly as long as an event that you sat through. Last time she had one of these we had to sit through some pretty horrendous performances (piano, singing, dance, other guitar players...), I had to keep reminding myself that they were all just learning.
Grace. Have grace, Jennifer! (That's me, talking to myself!)
Anyway, it might have been my puffed-up mother-pride, but I could have sworn my daughter got harder and longer applause than the other kids. She had practiced A LOT before the event.
And now we get to do it again today.
Anyway, congratulations on making it through...and to your daughter for remembering all her steps like a pro!

She says she is thinking about continuing but it's honestly hard to tell with her. She's only 6 and is still discovering what she likes and dislikes. She tends to complain about going to class, etc. But, then she says she loves it. So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
