One day I was trying to steam my cake, then I found I had run out of gas. I have no oven (poor gay) Then an idea came...why not using rice cooker....I try google @. I poured in the mixture about an inch thick, closed the lid and waited. After half an hour I used a toothpick to test, it was cooked. So happy, I turn the rice cooker upside down, the cake came out with a good appearance. (Of course don't forget to rub the rice cooker content with butter or oil) Beside this how you prepare your cake?

Its the same procedure as you baked your cake in the oven. Without oven, I use rice cooker. I pour direct to the pot instead of the tray. Rub with butter or oil before pour in. It will be cook about 1/2 hour, check it few times with tooth pick. Make sure the batter is not too thick. Few time doing will make your cake better.

@Chungshop Somewhere, somehow, I saw a short clip of someone trying to bake in a rice cooker, it was only the regular batter though and no flavor on the cake. I wonder what cake you steamed? I have a breakfast toaster, and thinking of uaig it to bake some goodies.

Well just flour sugar butter eggs. Some baking powder. I like orange so I added some juice. Normal batter, same as the oven. But I use electric rice cooker instead of the oven lo.
