I was never good at Literature but was forced to study or just read Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and other Shakespeare's literature when I was only in F.1 and F.2 (equal to grade 9-10 in Canada's high school system I think). Frankly speaking, I didn't know how great this Shakespeare guy was at that time and never pretended that I know how to enjoy this so called literature at that age. All knew was that I this story looks a bit sad and at the end and fun at the beginning. I didn't know anything about their "love" issue. That was my impression as a high school kid at that moment. Later on I saw this movie in the cinema and got a better picture of the story. I think it was a romantic but a sad story as well. It may have more impact in the western world but not for people who lives in Asia. the mentality towards love were a bit different and the expression were quite different at that time as well. That 's my opinion. How about you ?

I already knew the story before watching Leonardo Dicaprio's version of the movie and It was good. The characters did an amazing job!

Oh, I didn't really watch that one in full but just a watch it on TV for a few minutes. I think it is good to watch in full when I have time to do so. But looks like this one is not bad as well.

@wildlittlefan Oh I haven't seen or even heard about that one and the characters look really young. So there are many Romeo and Juliet movies out there?

@flipitup Yes, there were tons of them and more still will come. However, there will never be an old Romeo and old Juliet because nobody will care if they will become old in the future. Only the young one will attract the young people to watch them.

It's the ultimate tragic love story. I never read the play but have seen the 1968 film version and saw it performed live on stage.
