How often to you change your spark plugs and wires on your vehicle?

I don't remember just how many years back I had new Bosch platinum plugs put in our car with new plug wires also, but it's been about 5 or more years since that time and I don't know exactly if the spark plugs really need to be replaced at the moment as we drive only about 120 miles a month. Really. We only use half a tank of gas which is about 9 gallons of gasoline every month and when it comes time for the nex fill up it's been about 30 days and it's usually only a half tank empty or more.
The fact that the car loses some oil to the tune of about half a quart a month from either an oil pan gasket leak or an oil sending unit or the valve cover gaskets or one or the other engine seals. It's hard to tell. But I keep putting in fresh 10W30 Penzoil in the motor to fill it back to MAX on the dip stick and it runs fairly smoothly for a 1995 Seville SLS 4.6. But then the spark plugs and wires tend to get worn at some point. I just don't know, based on the little bit of driving my wife does with our car as to the proper time for a spark plug and/or spark plug wire replacement to insure proper motor efficiency.

Wow, that is a long time. And a car that doesn't actually have worn rings should not have bad plugs anyway from what I heard about it. Thanks.

@lookatdesktop I used to enjoy gapping the new plugs, setting the distributor, using the timing light to set the timing. But modern cars are too computerized.

@DWDavis I agree. I like older model cars because they were easy to get at all the parts and easier to understand.
