My dog escaped

This morning I was going for a walk when mom asked me to buy some buns for breakfast. I went out but as I was waiting for it, I realized I left the gate slightly open. When a street dog passes though mine walked out slightly, checking if there's some one was going to stop him. No one did so he went for the chase, I went back and look for him. Good thing he didn't went far and I was able to get him back. I was so frustrated but at least he was safe. When he was a puppy he used to go out the gate and relieved himself, that's got me the idea of putting a barricade on it. But wow he sure was fast, but I guess he easily got tired..

I experienced this also before I left the gate open and my dog run fast.. but after couple of hours I heard knock on the gate and when I check it, my dog is scratching the door and asking to open the door!

@Letranknight2015 Yep dogs are wise and every morning we do dog walk, maybe that's why he can recognize the way going to house.

good thing you caught him. if your dog is not used to going out, he might be having a hard time going back.

about 2 years ago i rescued a dog that had a rope tied to tight on his neck that it started to cut his flesh. I took him to the vet the once he was healed, i took him home with me. On the first day, he got out of the cage. He ran out and kept on looking at me, as if he wants me to follow him, for which I did because he is not familiar of the place and there are many vehicles, AND because I was already running late for work. When I stopped, he stopped, he i started to talk, he starts to run. I was chasing him for a good 1 kilometer or more until i get tired and turned back and walked away. I got frustrated because he's gone. less than 2 mins later after I got home, he came back and went back in his cage. And I was like ' why you little bugger!" I didn't hit him or anything, i was glad and happy that he's back. And yes, i was late for work as I was playing with him for few mins.

He just wants to play, good for you that you set him free. I put him back on leash but I will let him go later @ghostie2472

happen here a couple or few times.Now and then Ms.Ruby takes off .Mostly stay in the area.

Hello @amadeo I hope the dog didn't get any kind of injuries, wanted to walk him but I just think it would get him to chase more dogs. like what happened today.

It's good thing you were able to bring him back. Something worse might happen to him while on the street.
