Do you like Boodle Fights?

Boodle Fight
Philippines

This photo was taken last Saturday when we celebrated Giligan's basketball team's winning the first place during the Mayor Gene T. Fuentes basketball league here in our municipality. We used banana leaves, put rice, fried chicken, pork adobo, salted egg with tomatoes, and other viands sponsored by the team manager. Then, the coach - my husband, and the players including my son ate together. Have you experienced boodle fight? Do you enjoy it? When was the last time that you experienced it?

@sishy7 Boodle Fight kind of eating is when all the food serve are put on the table with the use of banana leaves as tablecloth. Then you have to wash your hands because you will eat with your hands. No cutlerries are allowed in eating.

Oh, I know what you mean. Everybody should eat with their hands. That would be unfair. I still can't upload the photo. Maybe there is a maximum limit for starting discussions and uploading photos or something? I will try again in a few minutes.

@nanayangel there is no maximum limit on how many discussions we can submit, but there is a size limit on the picture we can attach. i think 3mb, but not sure. we don't earn additional for attaching pictures, though, be it discussion, response or comment.

Yes! I like boodle fight. But here in UAE, it's hard to find a banana leaves, that's why we use a foil instead. We usually get together with friends and family every Friday after our church service. We have so much fun. :-)

In our last team building here at work we had a boodle fight. We had fried rice, roasted chicken and pork belly, as well as grilled fish. It was a great experience. Our foreign colleagues enjoyed it as well.

The closest thing in western culture of a boodle fight would be the community potluck. both express the idea of a communal meal. Sharing a meal reinforce the social relationship among the members of a community. This is more common in tribal cultures.

I experienced boodle fights more than twice already. It was really fun. It is also a great way to promote camaraderie among new found friends, and also strengthen ties with the other family members.
