Wisdom Teeth Update Part 4,342!

Yes, I had to make another visit to the dentist yesterday. My jaw had been locking up in my sleep for quite a few days. Yesterday it finally unlocked around 10:30 AM with a lot of pops and clicks and cracking sounds. Babysitting kids when you can hardly talk is not a fun experience! So, I trekked into the dentist after work and was fortunate to be seen really quickly although I'd been warned over the phone that I might have quite a wait. It was funny at first – I have on color changing nail polish and the dentist noticed the new color and asked about if it was the kind that changed colors. When I said it was, she had to spray some water on my nails to see them the color change. It was the first time I've ever seen her not all business and serious. Once we got down to business, we decided that my jaw pain was half due to stress and half due to my wisdom teeth problem. She prescribed some muscle relaxer and anti-inflammatory medications to help with the pain. She was also able to help with some of my fears about the surgery. She did tell me its going to hurt like a bleep (yes she said the real word where that bleep is). She also said I'm going to look like a chipmunk afterwards, and not a very cute chipmunk at that. I'll be swollen all over my face and miserable for the first three to four days. I'm really not that afraid of the recovery though, surgery day is my fear. She's still planning to help with that day and be there to support me, which is amazing. I'm going to have to do something big after the surgery to thank her. I'm thinking color change nail polish will be part of it...

I have not heard of the nail color changing polish. I don;t get out as much as I should, and things take a while to drift out to the hinterlands anyway. I think I would like to have some of that for fun though. Wisdom teeth removal is not that bad. I had mine done in the hospital though.

I'm having mine done in a state of the art oral surgeon's office. My dentist said since my bottom wisdom teeth are sideways and twisted, those will be the ones that give me the not cute chipmunk look.
