#2 on my Top 10 Favorite James Bond Theme Songs series takes us to 1977 for the 10th Bond film, The Spy who Loved Me (Roger Moore's best outing as Bond, as far as I'm concerned.) Carly Simon did the vocals for "Nobody does it Better." It garnered an Academy Award nomination, and is, according to Wikipedia, Simon's longest-charting hit, longer even than her classic "You're so Vain." And "Nobody Does it Better" was a big hit: it peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #7 in the UK. It also hit Top 10 in both Canada and Australia. It is also a Certified Gold record. (Fun Wikipedia Fact: Radiohead has played the tune live in concert.) Obviously, I hold this song (other than Dr. No, it was the first Bond theme with a title different from the film's) in high regard. Carly Simon was the perfect choice, and the song more than lives up to what I feel is one of the best Bond movies.

She nailed this song, I think people were too busy worrying about who "You're So Vain" was about to notice just how well she can sing. No problems with this song, she just let loose and knocked the walls down.

I used to listen to No Secrets a lot when I was a kid. I've liked her ever since.
