Is camel ride a good exercise?

May 26, 2016 12:48am CST
Generally camels are the best animals which can move and run on sand. Rest of the animals face problems over sand. In desert lands like that of Jaisalmer, Barmer and other parts of Rajasthan in India, people use camels for movement. Camels are called the ship of the deserts. People riding on camels have good exercise. As the body of camel is of such nature while sitting on the camel and while riding on it, that it creates waves in the body of the rider. So it is good exercise.

I'm a horse trainer and I always think the horse is getting more exercise than I am. Are horses and camels different?

Thanks the horse for the comments. Yes, camels have a different body set up than horse. Horse runs on any surface. Camels are more comfortable on sands. Also the lump of the camels which give them awkward shape. The stomach pains sometimes during camelrides.

@TheHorse The rider's stomach. It is because there is a too and fro swing of the camel while moving. The rider has to be careful.

Thanks Pankhini. In Jaisalmer, there are guides who train the layman how to sit on the camel and movement of feet when the camels moves fast.
