Is my bamboo plant growing properly?

My bamboo plant is just 7 days old. I purchased it from online marketing site.
After that I had just watered the plant once in 5 days. I kept it in my drawing room.
I dont have liquid fertilizer to help the bamboo plant.
Those who have bamboo plants at home what else do they do?
