I have a friend who was traveling to Kalamazoo, Michigan yesterday and from where she lives it is a ten hour drive. She called me this morning and let me know she arrived okay. She thought the town of Kalazoo, MI was a very nice town with all the historic buildings she was seeing. She said the only problem she had was in the Chicago, Illinois area where there was lot of construction and she said about every 20 minutes of driving she had to pay a toll fee. She was wondering would they have let her go if she didn't have any change with her for this toll fee.

@Marcyaz wow a 10 hour drive. That would be so much fun to me actually lol I'm not totally sure if we have any roads around here that you have to pay a toll. Never seen one.

Yeah I remember tolls on various roads. I am not sure if they let you go anymore..I seem to recall that you could get a ticket at the booth and pay it later before.

Toll roads are a pain, we always travel with money in case. Between my house and the YMCA where I live there is a round about being built on a busy corner. It has been slowing everyone down for months. Can't wait until the construction is over.

@PainsOnSlate I don't know anyone who has anything good to say about those round abouts and I personally do not like them either. That construction seems to go on for months on end.

I found the view of the skyline of Chicago to be quite exceptional but the traffic was horrific but no tolls on the road we were on.

@BelleStarr Yes the skyline is beautiful even though I haven't been there in years. It seems all large cities have traffic problems and glad you were not on the toll roads. I am not sure of the route she was on but I think she said she was taking 90 to 35 that is all I can recall.

They should always have change for the toll fees. If the don't have, they should let the traveler go on.

I didn't realise there were toll roads in the US. Thought it was just bridges and tunnels

@Ronrybs Oh yes not all States have toll roads but a number of them do. Nope not all bridges and tunnels.
