Unhealthy air quality

Because it has not rained for two days or so, I was back to my watering regimen this afternoon. While watering my plants, I heard old songs being sang at our front neighbor who is a dentist. It's his birthday today and his "barkadas" have come and they are having a sing-along session and I also hear mahjong being played. The dentist and his brother used to be in a band that went to Vietnam to entertain our soldiers during the Vietnam war. As I was watering, I felt that the air smelled awful. It smelled of burnt trash and I believe it still comes from the dumpsite a few kilometers away which went on fire a few weeks ago. The fire must have continued burning slowly causing the air to be acrid and smell awful. The city officials must have been very busy campaigning that no one bothered to solve the dumpsite fire problem. I hope the rain comes again so that I will not be exposed to the unhealthy air while watering our plants and lawn.

@sunrisefan That is a type of environmental pollution, like noise pollution in the city. That is why I get asthmatic when I breathe air in places where there is factories

@Yar_Joey I'm sure your asthma would worsen if you lived near the dumpsite here.

And I was just reading about a flooded area from another Filipino member... Must be two different areas where you and she's at over there...

Most likely. That other member must be living either in the north or in the south. We're in the middle of the country.

Wishing more rain in your place. I don't want you smelling awful things again. You can smell me instead.

@skysnap You are right. They could flare up when hit by lightning.

Continuous downpour would have helped much douse off the burning embers underneath the dumpsite caused by methane gas.

I thought the singing power duo neighbors caused the unhealthy air quality.

They're not singing duet. The brother ( a former banker) is no longer here but in the U.S. The dentist has other friends who sing well with him and it even includes one who plays the keyboard and entertains at several restaurants in the city.

the fire should have been doused by the rain. the song 'here, there and everywhere' have been playing in my head since you mentioned it and i listened to a video on youtube who sent the dentist and his brother to vietnam? or did they choose to go there?

@sunrisefan they served our country, too, in a way, just like the soldiers

I think it was the government that sent them. Their band was called "The Gambits", Ms. Everywhere :)

That's good. It's much better if it rains in the evening so you still can go anywhere you want to go. I'll be logging out at 9 to sleep early, I'm joining the Runkeeper 5K World Challenge tomorrow :)

Thank the heavens, Fort McMurray, which is still burning, is 500 hundred kilometers away from Calgary. Almost 2000 homes were burnt beyond repair.

That's a big disaster. You're lucky you're far from it but that fire still contributes to global warming.
