Do you think a girl and guy can be just best friends?

I have always wondered if a girl and a guy who are best friends can remain so throughout without one of them developing feelings for the other. While I'm not saying this is true in every single case, most people(around 90%) that I've known have eventually become a couple. That includes me!! Most of the times, they end up liking each other or atleast one of them does! I have phases where I believe that it is possible for them to just best friends, but at other times, I've almost treated it like a myth!
What do you think? Have you ever had a best friend you've had a thing for?

Well it is not difficult initially to be friends... but high chances to for them to turn into couples iventually...
I know a girl and a boy were very good friends and all were thinking that they would be a couple... but they got settled with some other persons and they are still good friends...

Yes. That observation seems to be similar to mine because even I've noticed that very few people don't pursue these relationships

@Curlybobby yeah thats right..I have a bestfriend which is a boy. But we never be a lover. I dont know why.maybe because hes not my type.and im not his type also to be lover

I think it is possible for a guy and a girl to remain friends and not be romantically involved.

@allen0187 While I wouldn't exactly be as hard-line as you.. I do agree to the extent that it is very possible for a girl and guy who are best friends to remain so throughout.

What about when they're really close friends. Almost like a best friend. Don't you think dynamics may change then?

I have had several male best friends that remained friends until now. So I know it's not a myth and it's not because I'm unattractive either lol. We just had a rule that we shouldn't fall for each other or we won't be friends anymore.

@transcendent yes you can. because all of them are already married and so am I. And we are all happy as friends even back then telling each other who we wanted to marry. We still keep in touch and drink once in awhile and talk about how we missed our past single lives.

Ohh. Those friendships have their own sweet things abt them. So what if you didn't get together? It's a p pretty beautiful feeling to have experienced. In fact it may sound weird but I miss tje time when my bf and I were just good friends. That has a different feel to it altogether!

Yes. It is quite possible. But more often than not, they seem to develop feelings for their best friend.

Yes it is very possible to have just friendly relationship between man and woman. I have few good friends who are males.

That is very usual, guy and girl try to be best friends but some day they just admit each other that they got a crush both. But I think that those couples can last long because if they did not lost their friendship they can keep their relationship even better. Friendship is very important part of relationship. I personally never had female besties, but my girlfriend is like best friend for me, we perfectly understand each other. We do not act just like couple all the time. And answer is maybe, I don't know, but girl and guy to be best friends for a long time it is almost impossible.

It's great to hear this about your girlfriend! I mean the best thing that can happen in a relationship is that you start treating your partner like your best friend! It's actually quite beautiful. And I do feel the same way sometimes about girl and guy best friends..

It all depends on so many factors. I always feel that friendship is the best relationship shared by any two beings. If friendship be the base for any relationship..be it...parent child...siblings...husband- wife...then the relationship is a sure winner. So a boy and a gal being just friends is possible. And if it grows into a life long relationship why not
