Another 12 hour day to go!

Any words of wisdom or encouragement are...encouraged! My sexond 12 hour day this week is almost underway or will be shortly. I amtrying to keep my eye on the prize - that overtime pay and how it will help me kill my credit card debt. Yet...I still do not feel very motivated. This time of year there is a lot of mandatory overtime anyway so I may as well get used to it. Do you work a lot of overtime at your job? How do you keep motivated?

Since I don't have a job, I don't have OT. But I do stay motivated by keeping positive and staying focused.

I do work overtime, but it's not stressful to me. It's shifting work; 2 days work and 2 days off

@precious4011 I consider that to be a skilled job - customer service takes skill :-)

Oh that must make it a little easier. Can I ask which field you work in?

I do work overtime when its required. I just take each day one block at a time, from my break to my next break to my lunch to my last break to end time. I hope that your day passes easily and quickly.

Thanks! I like your idea. One block at a time. That seems much more manageable than looking at the big picture.

@maezee Let me know how your day went, I find that when I go in with that frame of mind, I feel like one minute I'm looking forward to my first break, and then all of a sudden it feels like I just came back from my last break and I'm looking forward to going home.

I'm retired, but I never had set hours when I did work. My daughter-in-law works in a care home and does 12 hour shifts 5 days a week. I hope you get through your shift alright.

I dont do any overtime, l only work 4 hours a day and my workplace don't pay overtime, you just get a day free. If you need motivation, think of what the money will do for you, think of just being home and not making that money and your debt will still be there. Be strong, take an hour after the next and before you know it, the time will be over and you are on your way home.

Thanks. And you were right! I am trying to keep my mind on the money too. That seems to help a great deal.

I worked in a BPO company 3 yrs ago. When its toxic there is always a mandatory over time and I hate it. But if I plan for a vacation leave I get motivated and I do not think of the time I will spent for over time. :)

My motivation stems from getting tasks done. If I complete tasks at job, that keeps me motivated.

I don't work anymore (office work) because I retired early and just did some small business.
