what is your opinion regarding extended families living together?

i believe when you start a new family, we need to move out from our parents. i know some they would need family intact together and live in the same roof. i guess there is a high chance to have in trouble with your in laws

I grew up in an extended family and All I can say is the fact it is a chaotic mess.

Well it's a very common practice in Asia. And although I don't see anything wrong with it, I personally would want my own house if I start a new family.

Mostly parents do like extended family and children want to move out... in extended family important things would be taken care of even in your absence... at the same time you cant always do what you want to do... and it is a mutual responsibility... you are taken care of and you also need to take care of others...

@stephjoy well i am stuck up in a joint family with my in laws... my husband and his parents dont want to get separated and i dont want to live with them...
