Recipes are what they used to go by before everything turned instant!

There are places you can go to get a pie or cake mix and take it home to put together the perfect dessert.
If I were living near a desert near a town that was deserted and all I had was a pack of Betty Crocker Chocolate cake mix and some eggs and butter and milk I guess I would just have to go by a recipe to make it happen.
But living in the big city most people like to just buy a cake already made and so the lost art of home cooking is slowly becoming a lost art.
One of my favorite recipes that requires either you pay 30 dollars to buy it from a bakery or try to make if from instant, actually requires that you start everything from scratch and it's called Mississippi Mud Cake: Below is a recipe from Making it from scratch provided by the following site: Taste Of Home dot com:
Make this tempting cake and you'll satisfy kids of all ages! A fudgy brownie-like base is topped with marshmallow creme and a nutty frosting. Your family will be very merry when you serve up big slices with glasses of cold milk or steaming mugs of coffee.

I agree, the lost art of baking a cake from scratch has happened in this day of "quick quick" preparation. When I was a child, there were many times my Mom, Sister and I would make cakes from scratch and it was always such a nice treat whether it be for a birthday or some other occasion!
