Andrew Mason who is a reporter for the Denver Broncos website reports the news that the competition to be the starting quarterback of the defending Super Bowl champions will be "wide open" according to Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak. The Broncos have on their roster former New York Jets starting quarterback Mark Sanchez, rookie Paxton Lynch and second year quarterback Trevor Siemian on their roster at this time. Sanchez had surgery on his left thumb on May 16, 2016 which will cause him to miss the offseason training activities (OTA) this year. Siemian and Lynch will get the majority of snaps during the offseason training activites for the time being. Sanchez will be getting his snaps with the team during training camp that will open next month but he will have to earn the right to lead the team when the first regular season football game opens later in the year. Kubiak will make the announcement who will be his starting quarterback during the preseason football games later this year.
