Climate Change blahblahblah...

Alright! This is it! I'm gonna do my part for the fight against Climate Change! I'm gonna...I know!...I'm gonna stop breathing! Yeah...to help lower carbon dioxide. Andandand I'm gonna eat more meat to lower cow flatulence. Uh-huh...ooookayyyyyyyy.
Let's start by saying that carbon dioxide in a reasonable measure is actually good. That is what plants eat to create the oxygen we crave so much.
Now, as far as this 'Climate Change' thing, Climate has been changing since the creation of the Universe. They weren't driving many suvs back six thousand years ago, but, over time water rerouted itself, burying some land and opening other lands to end up with the continents we have today. We've had tropical ages, we've had ice ages, the dinosaur came and went along with many reptilian bird species and other critters of all kinds. That's called Evolution. They've tried to call their scam by so many names; first, it was Global Cooling, then, it was Global Warming and they've been proven wrong on all counts. Their ultimate goal is to create a Global Tax and get money out of your pocket any way they can. Climate Change! Yeaaaaah! That's pretty much of a sure thing. I mean...Yeaaah, Climate changes all the time.
What is real is, as a matter of fact, Pollution. Yes! Pollution of air. Pollution of water annnnnnnnnd....Pollution of Land. It is real, ugly and has a direct effect on the air we breathe, the fertility of the Land, the water we drink and use in other consumables. We have become pigs. Throwing trash all over the land, overboard on ships(including medical waste and paraphernalia). We've been spewing smoke and chemical vapor in the air without any attempt to filter it because it might take a litte 'bite' out of the 'profit margin'.
Mother Earth is a big girl. She can take care of herself. It is we, our children and grand children that we need to worry about. The bottom line is, really, preventing the extinction of the Human Species.
Yes, the sooner we can stop using fossil fuels, the better. But, today, our technology is not ready for that. Let's take every step possible to make that happen. But, in the meantime, let's do the best thing we could ever do for the next generations...Control mining emissions. Keep reducing vehicle emissions. Recycle as much as possible and, most important: Pick-up after ourselves!!!

I know. I was just messing with you.
Seriously, I agree that the climate change stuff is a load of bunk. Personally, I feel it's just a way for our government to put us under their thumb.
There are even some conspiracies that claim the "climate change problem" will be used to create a One World Government.
Time will tell...

Myself I don't think coal is a good resource for energy only producing but even coal usage can be improved on. The problem is not technology or making something affordable? It just needs to work. To do the job better. To clean it up. And what is hindering human development the most is our antiquated economic system that affects our thinking, our social involvement including governmental structures that we built around economics.
If we could instead look at the technical problems we face and just work towards a better future, then the eventual cost (human extermination from the planet?) might be avoided at all costs.
The future can be a wonderful place for the children.
one example: Gasification avoids burning coal altogether. With integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) systems, steam and hot pressurized air or oxygen combine with coal in a reaction that forces carbon molecules apart. quoted from
Clean coal -- isn't that an oxymoron? Not anymore. See how energy companies are using coal in cleaner ways to generate massive amounts of electricity. Alternative fuels may be making headway, but coal isn't used up yet. Find out why.

Yes, we are making good progress as far as home usage with solar and wind power. However, whether hybrid(which still requires a fuel engine) or full electric(which requires charging-and where does that power come from?...The coal powered electric turbine). We will find an alternative, but, it needs to be efficient and, especially, affordable. There is HydroElectric which is frowned upon by the 'tree-hugging crowd' because it might 'disturb' the Environment and the little fishies. There are technologies in the works, but, as I'm sure you know, they've been squelched by Big Petro who'll do anything to keep the billions coming in(and I do mean anything).
