Yes, that is a big amount and am sure, not all can spend that much in a month. I can relate you, I send my 3 boys to college together, with their tuition alone every month it cost already $750 excluding allowances and others but am glad they successfully finish their studies on time but that was 7 years ago and I'm sure the budget you've said is really big but as long as you have a good income and your children are doing good, money doesn't matter.

We are a family of five as well. However, all our kids are under 5. I guess your budget depends on your needs, where you live and such. Each family is different.

I am single and I live on my own. My budget for a month is $333 (rent, food, toiletries, fare, etc).

In my country 2000$ for a month is awesome.. I think that many people earn that amount of money for about half an year.. Imagine how long time they need to save 2000$.. Miserable salaries and poor country.. I would love to have about 1600 to 2000 euros or dollars for a month when I finish studying.
