Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim activate closer Huston Street from the disabled list

Jeff Todd reports the news from Anaheim California the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have designated for assignment right handed pitcher Doeilis Guerra, optioned to their AAA minor league team right pitcher Mike Morin. Closer Huston Street who has been on the 15 day disabled list since April 24, 2016 with a strain to his right oblique and left handed pitcher Chris Jones who had pitching for the Bees in 2016 will replace Guerra and Morin on the Angels 25 man roster on Monday. Street will replace Joe Smith as the Angels closer. Smith will return to his role as the setup relief pitcher for the Angels. The Angels will be hosting the Detroit Tigers in a three game series that will be played at Angel Stadium of Anaheim starting on Monday night.

Odd that Guerra was designated for assignment because he had pitched well. Morin was so so. I guess they need another leftie thus Jones. A healthy Street is desperately needed.

Huston when he is able to pitch is one of the best closers in the game of baseball.
